The Original Missal Of Pope St. Pius V Is Very Similar To The Ancient Sarum Rite

To understand what we are speaking about, please go to the post: What Is The Oldest Form Of The Latin Mass?

Now, how do I know that the original July 19th 1570 Missal of Pope St. Pius V is similar to the Ancient Missal of Sarum? Some or most of the Prayers we know today in the 1962 Missal, but if you pay close attention, to the red writing on explaining what the Priest is to do in the 1570 Missal, the movements are totally different than how the Priest moves in the modern Latin Mass. 1. The prayers when the Priest enters the church are similar to Sarum, the Confitetor is similar; see the Confitetor from the Sarum Missal:

The Confiteor of Missal of Pius V

Then this bottom section is where the Missal of Pius V is different. The Canon of the Mass is the same or darn near similar, remember the Sarum Rite was done in 1078:

The actions and movements, the added genuflections in the Sarum Rite and The Missal Of Pope St. Pius V are beautiful, even during the Our Father in the Missal of Pope St. Pius V, the arms of the Priest are not spread apart like signaling a touch down, but arms out wide like a cross, same in the Sarum Rite, the Dominican Rite, the Carmelite Rite. Instead of lightly bowing in some of the prayers, complete incline bow over the altar, instead of bringing the host up to his mouth, the priest lays almost completely down on the altar in a bow to Our Lord again, takes the host, complete and total reverence for Our Lord in the Eucharist. When consecrating the wine in the chalice, this was removed, when the Priest would raise the chalice to his lips and speak the words, this was removed by Pope Clement VIII in 1604:

If I could choose which Mass or Masses or Rites of Masses for the Latin Rite, I would choose that the Original Missal Of Pope St. Pius V and The Sarum Rite be both restored without the changes. Both Similar and Both Beautiful! Andrew B.
