The Priesthood Today and Its Loss Of Identity

We will be using the book by Henry Edward Cardinal Manning, The Eternal Priesthood and he uses the great work by the Father/Doctor of the Church Saint John Chrysostom's On The Priesthood. I would also recommend the book by the Father/Doctor of the Church Saint Ambrose Duties Of The Clergy. Finally the book by His Holiness, Pope Saint Gregory The Great Pastoral Rule. Today, Priests have become more of the world, promoting things a Non Governmental Organization would promote, care of the illegal aliens over laws of the nation, who has a duty first to care and protect it's citizens. Then we have priests and bishops promoting LGBT Ideology, instead of chastity, celibacy, the virtues instead of vices. We have a man elected to the Papacy by a group of thugs, called Saint Galen's Mafia who are sexual predators and possible communist agents, who supports Population Control and Abortion, gives audiences to all these people who promote these sinful ideologies. Then they also say we must obey the UN. Now, instead imitating the Holy Cure of Ars, once assigned to a parish, you are there till you die, now after a few years, they are shifted around, which also goes against the Great Holy Confessors who wrote books on growing in the Spiritual Life, even Saint Teresa of Avila, it is bad to having to switch Confessors, it is through the one confessor that he will get to know your heart and will be able to lead you to Heaven, now the modern bishop hurts the grow in the spiritual life by removing the priest to a new parish. Now Priests go on vacation, bishops do golfing tournaments, seminaries have special tickets for sports teams to attend their games, seminaries are now like colleges, no longer a place to form young men into Holy Priests. Priests now act like normal lay Catholics, going to Christmas, New Year Parties, etc, but they are not normal lay Catholics and are set apart.

So, can a Priest not have a sense of humor, go out to eat, to a movie or a game? They are human, but they should not act like any normal person, as you can read from Henry Edward Cardinal Manning, they are no longer themselves, but "configured into Christ" by being Ordained into the"Priesthood Of The Son of God." They are to do what is only dignified by the office as Priest, so a movie, yes, but it is so hard to find a good quality movie any Catholic can go to, and no classic movie theaters around that plays classic movies, which are a lot of biblical movies, Saint Joan of Arc, other movies on the Lives of the Saints. Going out to eat, sure, even Jesus did that, and openly blessing the Meal is a great witness of the Faith. Sports, well, that is a tough one, back during the time of Saint Augustine, sports back then were the Gladiator Games, in his sermons during Christmas, he tells the faithful to not go to the games. A Priest is to be at the parish member's call, so spending 3 to 4 hours away from the phone or in a stadium where it is so loud, one cannot hear the call, I tell you, many Priests today, fail to fully imitate the Patron Saint of Priests, Saint John Vianney, and choose the easy life to for games, parties and other such things. I have heard from our previous parish priest, that there is no need to use the Rosary or other devotions, and he told the servers, "do not worry about anything, except being happy." Then, we are hearing on Twitter about other Priests who do not pray their Breviaries.
